My rats nest removal is pissing me off.

Okay, I'm a noob when it comes to mechanics, so be patient with me. Whenever I try to unbolt the fan bolts, that big thingamabob spins with the fan mount. My question is how do I make it stay in place?

use a channel lock, or regular plyers to hold the pulley so it wont turn.. i usally grab the belts real tight and hold them, the 10mm bolts cant be that tight, lol

are you installing the yoohoo belt? if not you can skip that and move on to the other stuff. thats what i did, i might add the yoohoo soon though. belt slippage at high rpm is pretty annoying.

Use 2 10mm wrenches or a large screwdriver and 10mm wrench
1 wrench wedge on the housing while the loosening the bolt with the other wrench.

I used two 10mm wrenches. Once you break them loose it's pretty easy to get em off after that.

The trick is not to pull down on the wrench, but to (using your hand or a hammer) bang on the wrench to have that same effect as the impact gun. Never failed me and I don't even use a rag or anything to hold the pulleys down.

But only 1 wrench is needed, thats putting one too many hard working wrenches to use, when they could be resting in their box.

I used the pull on the belt method with a quick/sudden jerk down on the wrench. Its kind of like having an impact wrench but not really. Works everytime for me...

I guess I kind of do a combination of a quick jerk while holding both wrenches, or something. Works every time.
