Anything Wrong With Chipped Stacks?

ok stupid question I know. would using chipped velocity stacks affect anything? I mean I know its going to disrupt airflow a little bit, but is it going to make it run funny, ie stumble when air is being rammed down them? Am I correct in thinking that they would still serve their overall purpose? They would be behind a filter, for the record, if that makes any difference...

Mine runs fine with nearly 1/3 of one side cut off of them to make clearance for a filter. Should be fine
