My project is near completion. (56k don't even)

It aint as big or high buck as others, but I know that I enjoy reading everyone else's project thread and looking at all the pics, and my project is finally winding down, so thought I might as well share all my progress complete with pics. I've made alot of individual threads, this thread will have it ALL!

The short story: Bought this car in may of this year for $1500 CAN (first car I've ever bought) and figured it needed a little TLC. Man once I started digging into this thing, I couldn't stop till everything was the way I wanted it to be!

Did everything at home in my driveway.

I've fixed/replaced

- Brakes lines
- Front rotors (Brembo)
- Rear rotors
- All new pads
- "Un-seized" the calipers
- Clutch hydraulics (Slave and Master)
- Body work
- Patched holes in floor.
- Painted wheels.
- Painted spoiler
- New tires (Pirelli winters)
- Removed rats nest and air pump
- Cleaned and undercoated the chassis
- New rear hatch.
- Purchased a spare 12a engine and tranny (modified)
- Swapped in a new tranny.
- Installed a full exhaust.
- Painted interior inserts.

The final things to do are

- Rebuild my Weber 40 IDF when the kit arrives
- Install Holley Red fuel pump and FPR when I pick'em up tommorow
- Run new fuel lines.

Also did small stuff like replaced burnt out bulbs, changed transmission fluid and engine oil, replaced interior components etc.

I think thats everything...pictures! (limited to 20 pics)

These are pictures of the car the very first day that it got towed to my driveway.

The body was in fair shape, but had alot of small spots that needed attention...and a few large areas. Also replaced the black plastic around the headlight that were covered with overspray.

Before

Before

After body work and painted wheels.

Interior After

Engine before mods, but after cleaning and painting.

Weber on temporarily

Wheels and tires.

Brakes

Spoiler

Weber setup before

After

RB header after

Exhaust

Tranny swap. (Yes I got that rust while the tranny was out.)

I think that's the short verion of what I've done. Hope you enjoyed.

On that under carriage I would use some undercoating or Rust-o-lium Spray paint from Lowe's. These will help reduce the cancer that is taking over under there.
That is the CLEANEST Fan I have ever seen!!!
Nice clean up under the hood...Dont forget the Quarter trick on the water passages before installing that intake ;]

Thanks guys.

No I didn't paint the fan, I cleaned it while I had it off the car.

The rear pads are pbr semi metallic pads, and up front I just used NAPA cheapos that were in the glove box when I bought the car.

And I performed the quarter trick yesterday.

Thanks all.

The car is finally back on all 4's after being suspended on blocks for a while.
Decided to treat her to a good old wash-n-wax.

The paint may be a little faded, and it may have a few blemishes from where I've fixed the rust, but shes still a looker in my books.

The pics didn't turn out great, but..I like them.

And the Holley Red fuel pump and PPR are in as seen in another post.

That's it. I was trying to decide whether or not I should put my Targa Band on my FB. I've just decided due to seeing your car with it, I'm putting my targa band on my FB too. That does look good on a white FB.

And you have a really good looking FB, by the way. Super clean judging by the pictures.

You also have a nice band

The Weber rebuild kit came in today, from Carbsonly (BFIC Fuel Systems) in California.

So a soon as I got home from school I rebuilt the 40 IDF. (Yes, I cleaned it before putting it together...3 times.)

Into the Mazda dealership tomorrow to pick up my intake gasket and the car will be done!.
