My new turbo

Almost back on the road. Another few weeks and it should be finished.
The motor is a 12a with 13b T2 inlet and throttle body. Front mount cooler, microtech etc, etc...

That turbo is so big you can't fit a filter on it.

Here are some more pics. Trying to go for the sleeper look.

There will be a filter on the turbo but I have to relocate the battery and move the radiator over 2 inches.

djmickyg I am from melbourne.

I like that a lot!

Are the two little black things on the front bumper washer nozzles for the headlights? I can't think of anything else they could be

12at, is that a semi turbo? I friend has one that looks just like it and it came off of a semi from a semi junkyard.

Looks like normal ventilation to me. You can buy pretty much any type of vents on the market and put them on anything, in this case are car hood.

Yeah, that's what they are. I beleive they weren't an option in the US.

12at, that's a sweet engine with one massive turbo hanging off the side of it. What is it, a T66?

I was just wondering what is the alternator off that you are running??? Keep use posted on the progress.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I got the intercooler back tonight from being modified so not long to go now...At a guess I would say 3 more weeks until it hits the road.

Adam,
I'll send you the updated specs later tonight. Are you gonna add the vert too?

Paul,
The openings are bonnet vents from a subaru wrx. They help to get all the hot air out of the engine bay.

djmickyg, nope it wasn't me. The car is still on axle stands unfortunately.

Error,
Yep it is a modified truck turbo. It is called a TA45.

rxdoom,
It is the standard 12at alternator, I think it is 55 amp so it is nothing special.

Whats the plan for the oulet of the turbo to the IC? Looks like youre gonna have to get creative if you dont rotate the compressor side...

I am using a V band clamp on the compressor outlet/intercooler plumbing. I already have it attached with a 3 inch bend off it and it all fits under the bonnet. I'll take some more pics soon and keep you all updated.

really nice setup... makes me want to have a go on my car... I have some FC parts and a brand new TII turbo, so maybe, if I mix and match with the 12A that's in there now... Hell, now you made me planning things I can't afford ;-)
Really cool car, anybody who has some sites on 12A cars with turbo setups? No TII/13 swaps, just plain 12A's with turbo...
