Welcome to the forum, looks like its very good shape, especially the interior.

And unless you have a GSL-SE the 12a motor was the stock motor.

Very nice, looks like you've got a GSL which has all the gadgets of the SE but is better because it has a 12A and a carb. Not that I'm opinionated or anything.

And those headlight sprayers are totally cool.

Welcome to the club!

Good luck with that oil cooler if you're ever going to work with (against) it. Nice find though.

He's probably referring to the fact that the "beehive" oil cooler is more like an oil-heater than anything else. It uses coolant (out of the back of the engine if I'm correct), so if your engine starts to overheat, the coolant will heat up the oil, which will heat up the engine, which will heat up the coolant more, etc. basically it's a really crappy setup.

So if you want to mod for more power, you should get yourself a front-mount air-cooled 2nd gen unit. Personally I think everybody should do it.

Oh, and nice lookin' car. That paint is rockin

Now that i look at the car more closely there are 2 different shades of red. top half is lighter than the bottom! im gettin a paintjob as soon as she is insured and i get money for it.
What is so great about the 12A motor i thought it is smaller and alot less power?
What is a really good mod to get alot of power? somthing i may be able to do.

nice car, kinda weird how it has the head-light sprayers, a 12a and non-SE wheels though.

i thought only GSL-SE's had the head-light sprayers in Canada? i dont believe ive seen them on GSL's before.

Nice ride man... Looks just like mine, except minus the rear wing and add on the emissions, and minus all the mods I've done... lol. Looks like a very solid car to work with. Research in this forum and you will find all of the answers to your questions. For my suggestion of mods for power, just look at my signature. Welcome to your new home!

While your car has gone through some changes, I think that the traditional 13" "X" wheels, plus the electric windows, tell me it's a GSL. I don't think any one would swap out the 14" wheels that came on the GSLSE for what many would consider a downgrade, although I do like the 13" "X" wheels better. The exhaust system (except the muffler) sounds like it might be Racing Beat, which is supposed to be real good, the best according to some.

What is good about the 12A, which is smaller and has less power than the 13B that came in the SE's, is that it is simpler, easier to work on and more reliable. Also, some, like me, like the aesthetics of a carb vs fuel injection, which is what you usually have on a 13B.

But these are all just details, it looks whatever whoever did to it they did a good job. I'd focus on getting it tuned well and all the little things fixed, there's always something to do on a 22 year old car.

Then after you've driven it for a few months you can start thinking about all those expensive power boosting mods. But it looks like you already have the most important one, the RB exhaust system.

Nice find!

Ray

Real Hard, and expensive. But they tell me it gives the car a kick. Why not leave it the way it is for a few weeks and get to know it better?
