Looks good. I have been thinking of a doing a single stage on mine. I have access to Imron at work. This is what we have been painting big rigs with for years. Tough stuff. You can still clear over it if you want to use mettallics.

Exactly! I have a DeVilbiss high volume low pressure gravity feed gun and I dont think theres anything out there that sprays as nicely as that. It can spray an almost finished edge with nearly no overspray.

I'm going to experiment on the spoiler, hood and fender first then if the results are good enough I'll move to the rest of the car.
I *do* know about that. I've been doing custom paint/show cars for 35+ years. But... I didn't say a cheap made-in-******'-china gun was worth a ****! I said a siphon gun was fine.
I still use base/clear for black. It will look better & last longer than single stage black. and again, if you get trash in the base (or screw it up in other ways) it dries fast & you can go back & fix it the same day & keep shooting.

Those that answered that a HVLP was better: well it does have the advantage of less overspray & less materials used, if the folks here can afford to buy that *system*. But the end result is not any better.

I used Nason clear on my ZX & there are several chips in the hood (& other places). Now, no paint is chip-proof, but the Sikkens I use on the nice cars holds up MUCH better (it also costs about $425 for a gallon & all the shtuff that goes with it).

There's very little difference between a gravity feed & a siphon gun. Slightly less air pressure, but about the same pattern & coverage.
