i spent about 350.00 on material.. the paint it self was only 210.00 an so easy to spray. the body was allmost flawless but it was really sun faded so i wet sanded evrey thing with 400 grit then used a gray sealer then painted....as for the pinstripe its a vinyal sold at ur local auto parts. the nason paint made by dupont sprays nice , covers nice, an sands nice with 2500 grit an is so easy to buff

What kinda spray gun did you use for that? I've got a siphon feed gun here that I was planning on using for the primer on my car, but I'm not sure if it would leave a good enough finish for spraying a base and clear coat on a car.

Paint job looks very good from the pics. I used a single stage urethane on the widebody and it turned out to be one of the toughest and most durable paint coatings I've used. Since it's such a tough paint, I don't even wax it in hopes it starts to wear down some before I do my final paint job when Phase III of IV of build process comes 'round.
Nice to see someone doing a decent DIY paint job that isn't a rattle can. Keep up the good work.

Nason is decent paint. Cheap but not quite as durable/chip-proof as more expensive shtuff. I would suggest everyone use base-clear, as it's much eaiser to shoot (& fix mistakes such as bugs & trash while shooting) & the clear eliminates fade by cutting down the UV.

a lot of restoration guys use single stage paints because they are period correct an the car comes just as nice as basecoat clear coat!
