measuring the hell with it, I have built about 15 motors(piston motors) the only thing I ever measured was the crank journals to know what size of bearings to order, and they are all running strong except for a d-50 motor i rebuild for a friend it had a cracked piston that we didnt realize but it ran like a bat out of hell on 3 cylinders hehehe

Houston, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!

I had to open the engine again.

I was ready to check for end play, but the E-shaft would not move. It would only move if i tapped it with a rubber mallet. So I opened the block and found a small scratch on the shaft and that's where it was stuck. It also ruined the bearing. So My friend gave me a new shaft and I bought a new bearing. I'll close her again tomorrow.

I'm actually happy I get to do it again

Motor is closed and all seems to be good.

My CP rack and pinion kit arrived yesterday, so I'll be installing the kit and then the motor.

Installing the CP rack kit is no picnic without proper tools. But I'm getting there.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is there anyway to reapply the nitride coating? And if not, what does the nitride coating do for the housings?

Well fellas, so far so good. Over the next few days I'll be installing the fuel system and hopefully the Microtech. Then we'll see if my rebuild is a success.

Wish me luck
