I lost a corner seal spring on the floor, and could not find it. It was getting dark, and I was getting very worried that I would now have till wait till Monday to close it.

So I got the bright idea to sweep the floor with a maqgnet:D

My batteries on the camera died. I'll take some pics of the engine in a little while.

I had watched the Atkins video on my laptop so many times, that by the time it got to the rebuild, I did'nt even need it:

BTW: Atkins Original VHS tape $20 shipped

virfighter 05-15-05 10:41 AM

Looks good man... but are you building it on top of a bucket? Brings new meaning to building on a budget! :)

Good luck with it man and give us some more pics!

aGoGo 05-15-05 10:52 AM

Looks good, I am gonna rebuild on one sometime... Where did you get your porting template? Did you just draw it out yourself?

luiml73 05-15-05 10:59 AM

My friend got the template from some dude named "Switche" here in Miami. He's a local guy that builds some fast as rotaries

Looks Great Luis!!

Did you need to rebuild it, or was that just your choice? I remember not too long ago you
putting up videos of it running on the street.

Did the engine let go?

Alex,

Engine was still running, but I wanted to refresh it to go with Microtech and Bigger turbo.

When I opened the engine I found that the previous builder used 88 and 89 housings, and My friend had a new set lying around in his living room so I bought them.

Dan_s_young 05-15-05 12:50 PM

wow looks amazing, I eventually should get that atkins video, ive heard nothing but great things about it.

Latin270 05-15-05 01:25 PM

Looks good bro! How detailed where you with "tolerences and specs" ? When I rebuilt my first engine it ran great and still does, but I hear many builders talking about measuring and all but in my opinion if it ran well before you took it apart it should still be within tolerences and workable.....right? I'm currently building another 12a and I tried all the measuring they talk about in those videos and Hanes book and it just drives me nuts!

Dan H 05-15-05 01:48 PM

Man, those engines look hot!

luiml73 05-15-05 03:12 PM

Not very!! Everything was pretty much brand new, so there was'nt that much to measure

John64 05-15-05 03:36 PM

Wow, I need that kind of ambition.

12akid 05-15-05 04:56 PM

nice work man,how much is a how reabuild kit for the 12a and the 13bt ???????

Rx7carl 05-15-05 05:50 PM

So is that powdercoated or painted? And IIRC you polished the rotor housings? Looks really good mang! :D
