My drive shaft saga

Got an -SE u-joints hashed. Been surfing the forum looking for a good one, pm'd a couple of folks, no response as of yet. I went to the jy last week and found an 85 with the driveshaft on the ground. Happy dance! Got home and the damn thing had the small pinion flange-**** I say! OK not prob I'll just take this drive shaft (ds from here on out) pull the rear flange put my -SE flange on it. Obviously needs to be reamed out because the 83+'s have smaller u-joints in them. No one will touch it, only choice is to get one built ($400 or so- I know Mazdatrix sells for $240). Today I went to a different jy, found and 85 GSL with the ds inside the car. Engine and tranny gone so good place to put it. Big flange and everything, hold on its got replaceable u-joints with zertz in it- cool an aftermarket replacement. Happy dance again! Get home, the damn thing is 2.5 inches shorter! Off an automatic! DAMN DAMN DAMN. So is anyone looking for an aftermarket driveline with replaceable u-joints for an automatic 83-85, that would possibly have a good driveline off a standard tranny that will work, lets talk. Or anyone else out there that has what I'm looking for. I would buy a new one but this car is on its way to the autotrader when I get it up to snuff. I know this should go into the classifieds but I thought it is was a good story. Sucks to be humbled. Help appreciated.

Haha, that sucks man. But, you can take the flange off the rear diff and swap it out to use the drive shaft with the smaller rear flange on it...
