i got it started on sunday or monday!!!then it ran till it ran outta gas then i went to start it up again the next day and it wont start!!!! my fuel pump is new filter is kinda dirty!!! accelerator is not working right it is loose at the pedal and it keeps holding the gas and it just pours in the carb!!!!
i need help!!!!!!

 

how about adjusting your floats. i think it might be getting flooded bcause ur floats are leetttin too much gass in lol

 

maybe not!! i dont think so its only flooding when accelerator cable is hooked up when i push the accel. on carb by hand it doesnt flood!!!

Need more info (at least I do) for the not starting issue.

If you got it to run, just pull your accelerator cable until you hear it effect idle - then back off just enough to get it idling normal. Then tighten both nuts on the cable.

 

well thats it i have no idea why it wont start except maybe new plugs and wires are needed and its letting gas out exhaust manifold!!!

 

some mmo... or atf down the carb....... spoon full in each of the smaller barrels....... if it wont start with that...... push start that ****


Do a complete maintainance on it..... like fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, cap, button, and oil change............

Do not use ATF if you still have cat converters on your car, it might be okay a couple times, but it will clog and destroy the cat. Use Marvel Mystery Oil(MMO) instead, works great, doesn't clog cats and makes just as big of a smoke cloud when you start it up

 

he is right..... im running open header on my 80 so it doesnt matter.....


but atf is automatic trasmission fluid...... it fouls the plugs and kills the cats after about 5 times of doing it hardcore............... should work once.....

 

oh ok well i have no cats anyway so ill try the atf thanks ill let you know hat happens later today!!
