my car wont idle

i dont know if you remember my last post, but i was looking at buying a car, well i did. the idle was way off before. it wouldnt idle below 3000. i found a vaccum leak at the intakle manifold. i had to make gaskets for both sides of the plastic spacer/heat shield between the carb and mani.

the car will idle at about 3000 when choked, but once it warms up, it wont idle. when i start it, it goes to about 1500 then wnats to die, i have to throttle it to keep her alive. i adjusted the idle the best i coudl with the speed/mixture screws. but i still cant get it to idle. i got it to lower when i start it, as low as i can, but it wont idle. when i get home im gonna checl the linkage. what do you think it could be.

i thought maybe driving it would help, it didnt. when im hardly pressing the accelerator, the car goes slow and bogs, then i have to press the gas harder, and it like frees up then the car goes.

any ideas?

It could be a couple of things but check for vaccum leaks around the carb,or caps missing on the carb.

Spray carb cleaner around and it should change the engines speed when it hits the vacuum leak. It could also be the intake. I had a car with a loose intake once. It had a little pool of antifreeze where the intake and engine meet.
