How can I test my AFM?
I know there has been write ups on if I can upgrade to the S4 AFM or not but I'm not worried about that at this moment and time. I plan on using my work's SOLUS Snap On computer to read my ECU. I have a good notion that my AFM is gonna come back with a code. Brand new AFM's are $850!!!! If I get a used one can I connect an ohmmeter and test it from closed to wide open????? Plz help!

Before you get far into shopping for another AFM, what are the symptoms of your car that make you think the AFM is bad?
In most cases, a poorly adjusted (or bad) TPS is the root cause, as the AFM is really not a complicated piece of equipment and may not even be the problem.
Reply back and we'll see if we can help,

Ok. I know I have fuel problems as such, pressure either from the pump or the regulator. My only driving symptoms are the intermittent tiny almost unnoticable sputter (probably fuel) and the other is after half throttle and the rest of the way to the floor it doesn't go any faster. There should be power increase. My second point is that if something is wrong with the car, it should be taken care of. You can guess I work at a dealership. If every little tiny thing isn't working properly, replace it. And BTW I saw new AFM's on Mazdatrix fror the $850 price. Once again I will read my ECU with our Snap On computer soon.
P.S. I adjusted my TPS a while ago. Its good.

pressure?
The sympton you are stating is either. 1). low fuel pressure/volume
2). Clogged or restricted cat 3). low compression. 4). Failed ignitor
It is not a sympton of a bad AFM.
I don't know what you aare getting frustrated about making a statement like.
If something is wrong with the car it should be taken care of.
When we ask questions concerning what are the symptons. We need to know
in order to steer you in the right direction.
And yes the rule of thumb is stated as the following. If something is not within specs it should be replaced. does not mean that it will solve your current driveabilty issue.
Unfortuneately the fancy snap on computer cannot check all those basics that ihave just mentioned.
The computer in the Se is just a antiquated caculator. It is not like OBD1 or OBD2
which are actual processors.
Stick to the basics on the diagnosis on you will find the actual cause of the problem. rx7doctor
