ok so the other day my brother decides that my fb is now his own personal light tester for his black lights, he hooked up a black light to the battery directly, (dont try this at home.....or maybe you should) and i open my door and it starts making a buzzing sound, not the tach buzzer but almosdt like warning beep,. coming form the clutch brake area, i got down there but couldnt find it right away and gave up, its a 1985 gsl-se, my friend with a 84 gsl-se doesnt hae a beeper of anykind.
my gsl, and every rx-7 (first gen) iv ever rode in or been around doesnt have a buzzer that goes on and off when you open the drivers side door.
but the crazy thing is. the dome light works, and the ignition suround light works when you pull up on the door handle but my headlights dont decide to work half the time
neither do my running lights or my guadge cluster

The buzzing IS a warning sound... it's more of a high pitched whine though, mine didn't used to work then one day started working but it was feint. then it got louder every few days.

 

Mine does it when I open the door with the key in the ignition. Mine's an 83 gsl.

 

mine used to do it, nothing 45 mins and a screw driver didnt fix. i used to just go off when the key was in and the door was open, then it started to do it all the time, and it was the most irratating sound, so... i found it, it was in a little black box under the dash, i poked around a little and it stopped. no problems since, and its been almost a year... now that i think about it, ive almost had my car for a full year now

 

there are buzzers for
a) door open, engine running
b) door open, engine off, auxillary or headlights on
c) approaching redline

any of these could be triggered depending on how he hooked up the wiring for the black lights.

 

Hey now don't forget the buzzer when you've broken the fluid level sensor lol i think it sounds like the headlight warning light buzzer when you've left them on only faster and MUCH more annoying.
