So inbetween classes today I run over to the DMV to finally put my car in my name (was in my dads name) I've got all the right paperwork with me, go in, no wait at all, so I'm happy. Lady starts processing the paper work then says "um, there seems to be a problem here" I'm like what? She shows me my title, the one with my dads name on it, and points out that the mileage says 950,817. Yes, nearly one million miles, I'm like oh ****, cause here I am claiming the car has 108k (which is does) Anyway, after about 5 seconds of thinking I realize my dad must have written the tenths of a mile down (it tells you not to but he would) and the idiot who processed the title 2 years ago didn't catch the error. Anyway, she believes me but says that she would have to call the Trenton office cause she personally can't do anything. After 2 grueling hours of waiting next to some smelly fat man with a lot of back hair she calls me back up and thankfully the Trenton office was able to find the original title with my dads writing on it and they verify that the "7" is really a ".7" and authorize her to put 108k down as the miles. Off I went on my merry way. Anyway, the real tradegy to this story is that my licence plate, had it all gone smoothly would have been "NXY-12A" but since I had to get out of line and they are real gay about giving plates out of order I end up with "NXY-18A" DAMMIT, my plate could have said 12A!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh. oh well, thats what happened to me today, sorry for wasting 5 minutes of your life
