My car is ALIVE.... but I have a few problems......
Well after cleaning the innerds on the carb.... it runs.....
When we pulled the carb air horn off.... we noticed that the air bleed(I guess.... its the thing that sits at the bottom of the float bowl) was missing..... it only had ONE.... so we took it off...I was wondering if we needed it.....
Oh... we also did some stuff to the carb........
We took the bigger air bleeds(on the side at the bottom of the float bowl) the bigger ones.... I mean the secondaries.... and stuck the extra ones on the primary... so there are 4 big air bleeds.....
And we also took all the crap off the carb...... like the choke stuff... and the vacum stuff.... and the diaphrame......
then we converted to MECHANICAL secondaries......
(WE= my friend and I....)
I mentioned that there was a write up on mechanical secondaries on my computer... he was like... its not that hard... and he took the throttle body(the part that has the butter fly's) off the main body..... he then made linkage for the secondaries....
It worked BEUTIFULLY..... when you hit the throttle.... the primary opens a bit.... then the secondaries start opening.... then at WOT they are both wide open...
I am gonna go through sterling report and see if my friend did it the same way he did.... it took my friend all but 10 min to do this....
......
Well.... my car runs......
But has NO brakes.....NONE....AT ALL.... had to down shift to second....or pull the e-brake... and somtimes BOTH.... to stop..... when I push the brakes down it starts to get hard.... then it gives away.. and then gets hard when its at the floor..... if I pump them up the back ones work a little..... I think my master cylinder is gone..... will swap it out with the other car tomarrow...........
well..... how would I tell if my intake manifold gasket is leaking??? I think it is... someone please enlighten me oin this one also....

Maybe the break booster (that big black thing that the break master cylinder attaches too) isn't hooked up any more. Usually them things use vacuum pressure to operate. It gives mechanical advantage to the breaks so you don't have to push so hard and stop like Fred Flintstone

Mate, the "air bleeds" you're refering to that screw into the side of the float bowls are actually the main fuel jets.
Now, let me get this straight... you took some spare secondary jets you had and swapped them with the primaries?
Put it back the way it was... you'll be running way too rich.
And one last thing, what are you talking about in the first part of your post? What exactly did you remove?

As far as your break problem, did you bleed em good? Did you adjust the rears yet? do that 'fore you swap out the master cylinder.
BTW its not he booster, they either work or they do not, yours sounds like it works.
Is this on the silver car? Or the one I drove?
Good luck.

I am gonna bleed them when I get a chance..... I am the only one that can do anything to it....... cause there is no one out here that will help me.... cause EVERYONE is busy
..............
Um...... The car you drove... I yanked the engine out of... stuck it in the silver car..... I messed the blue car up
pretty bad....... so I will just make it a track car...........
oh the car was only running HALF *** when you drove it..... now it is ALOT freakin FASTER......
I only have driven it once..... and rompted on it once... but.... that was ENOUGH for me
I need brakes first....... heheheheeee..... So..... if you want to come over here somtime and test drive this one....... your more than welcome to.......
Same for Mario.... except I wont let him drive it while its the least bit wet
.........
I have to get brakes..... a throttle return spring..... a pipe welded in for the exhaust..... and possibly an intake manifold gasket......

Well...... I dont even rev that high...... she smokes ALOT at that kinda RPM
I can only take it up to about 5500 if I dont stick up there but a few seconds... it will smoke pretty bad then still.................
So you are limited to helping me fix the brakes
....... and dumping at around 5000RPM
......
C'mon now.....
Dont worry SuperPhly.... I just learned ALOT of things about them recently....
I still hate them
LATERZ.......
If you just cranked the engine up after a long "sleep", don't be surprised if it smokes for a long while. When I cranked up mine with some ATF after a storage time of just over a year, the smokeage was HUGE!!
It was in the garage of the other house with the tailpipe pointing outward and the neighborhood came out wondering whose house was on fire...it did that for 30 minutes, at least, at 1500 rpm....quite embarrasing, but nobody called the cops on me because the mosquito population had been decimated as a result!!
