my atempt for aftermarket oil pressure gauge

i remeber seein a thread on this while back but havent gone back to find it so i went for it today and guessed how i could go about running the aftermarket oil mechanical gauge
the best part was i had a spare stock oil sender i pretty much cut the sender off (mushroom part) then i cut maybe bout a 1/4" off the neck just to shortin it up then i brought a 1/8npt tap i drilled the end with a 11/32 drill bit.
then tapped it used a lil bit of wd40 as lub as it all i had
the screwed the gauge pipe fitting into the neck presto it should work
ill hook it up tomorro and see if she goes

im pretty sure this been explained before but hay might refresh your memorey instead of buyin one ov those adapter things and it makes for one less wire ffrom the car and saves 8ounces of wait lol

just wondering is teflon tape alrite for this situation? oil plus pressure and it probly gets hot?

liquid teflon is what I use. Im just curious about this process...what would happen to the stock in-dash oil pressure gauge?

Why not just "Tee" it so you can have both mechanical and electrical gauges

i guess the stock gauge would just render usless
oneday ill just have aftermarket gauges where the cluster is but ill be sure to make it look good
i dont see how you could tee it? express your thought a little
the gauge has a pipeing which goes to my new adapter then to the gauge into the car

I think he was referring to running a Tee fitting and having the stock sender in one side, and your gauge fitting on the other.

I'm going to try getting a good used oil pressure switch off an FC (Same P/N listed) and if that doesn't fix my gauge, I'll be doing the same thing with my old one.

BTW, is that gauge one of the Equus gauges? I also read somewhere that 100psi was not high enough.
I'm interested to see how it works out for you, since I'm considering buying the Equus gauges for the FB myself.

Maybe I got things crossed with the FD then. FD stock oil pressure gauge reads up to 120, but is a great example of shitty oil pressure gauges.

if you have the FD or RB ROPR, then the equus will peg even at idle when cold. Use autometer instead.

you can mod the stocker ROPR also so you get 80 psi @ WOT and about 20+ @ idle. PM me if you're interested

Tap the banjo bolt on the bottom of the rear iron for the oil cooler line. Or buy one of the filter pedistal mounts from ReSpeed or RB.

his profile says 83. now, its a SA. based on that, the above is your best option.
