wow

for a frankenmazda looks awesome

I like the back alot , the front fender might be a little too square near the door crease for me . seems a little smoother curve at that point might balance the look a bit more ....

plans

A quick, good handling street car. To be honest I've got over three years in the building so far and I really haven't thought about drivetrain. It's a GSL so it has limited slip, rear disks. I had the axles drilled for a 4x4.5 pattern and swapped the front for GSL-SE spindle assemblies and brakes. It was an auto but I'm doing a manual swap as well.

I'm going to do a ReSpeed rack and pinion swap because I can't imagine not having it!

KY still kicking

Bet you guys thought I was gone. Been developing a residential wind turbine so I took a break. I'm back to it now. Have the fiberglass on the front finally done. Now I have a ton of Bodywork! Hoping to have it on the road by the end of spring.

That is sick. What are your plans for the engine, suspension, and brakes? Also what size wheels and tires are those?

Talking well...............

suspension, I'm going with a ReSpeed rack and pinion for steering. I can't get myself to put the sttering out of a truck back in plus I'm going to a power rack.

I have 85 GSL-SE front struts, brakes and I'm going to go with the stock brakes with good pads and new rotors for now. The car is going to be a lot lighter than stock so until I need them I'm going to try to get by with the stock ones.

I'm going to raise the front strut towers as far as possible without hitting the bottom of the hood so I can increase the drop without bottoming on the bumpstops. With ReSpeed springs and coilover kit it should handle pretty well.

I raised the rear shock towers 3 inches so with coilovers I can sit it really low. I lowered the bottom 4 link mounting holes on the axle by about 2 1/2 inches to get the lower links level at ride height. I'm going to make roll center blocks to fit between the steering arms and the struts up front to get the control arms more level at static ride height. That will do for now for the suspension. There is a lot of adjustability built in to set things up.

The wheels are 15x12 Greg Weld wheels in the rear, P295x50-15's and 15 x 10 with 225x50-15 in the front.

Anyone wanna help me sand

molds

I made the molds myself but I don't see selling parts. Nothing would fit a factory car.

Here is another

Nicely done!!!! Be prepared to make frequent repairs on the front lip. I've lost count how many times I've snagged mine. When that happens it cracks the fender arch/lip just forward of it's center and where the FG fenders bolt to the center header panel. Yours may not crack in the same places since your joints are in different places. I've been toying with the idea of cutting off the rolled front lip on mine and adding a 4" flexible skirt to help prevent further damage and repairs.

My only dislike is the side skirts, too boxy, need the sharp angles and flat areas rounded out.

Keep up the great work and post more build/process pics.

skirts

Yea the sideskirts aren't finished yet. Almost finished with the fiberglass though!!!!

The car will actually sit about an inch and a half higher than it does right now.

I actually like that Opel Gt. I built one for a guy a long time ago very similar to that. He had an LT1 out of a vette running through a rock-crusher with a ford 9 in rear. Fast car!!
