My 79 Project
http://webpages.charter.net/patryn/79rx7.htm
Here it is. I'm finally an official member of the rx7 family instead of an outside commentary. i'm going to try to keep the page updated for those of you actually interested. not exactly mike's 13b-rew swap but hey, its entertainment.

Hey Jeremy, mines not a 13b-rew (FD3s 3rd gen motor) its from a Jspec Cosmo 13b.. Its actually the same block with a bigger intake and smaller turbos...
Your in Owensboro right? C'mon over and take a look dude. I need someone thats interested in rotary engines, cant find anyone here that even cares anymore
As a matter of fact that looks exactly like my rusted out 80, except mine had a whale tale and a ARE 5 stars...
The body on that car looks very good, cant beleive it isnt rusted out. By the way I seen that car a few months back on 25st by foodland, i passed it in my 88 vert... I think there was a girl driving it, but dont remember for sure... Couldnt tell it was kinda dark and raining...

actually, i'm in murray. i only come into owensboro to get mail from my parents house and visit every other weekend. i'm not sure who you saw but this one is in murray. the guy i bought it from bought it in 79 and just finally stopped driving it 2-3 years ago. he drove it once a month for quite a few years due to becoming a parent. there are just a few rust spots and the paint is mainly oxidized from sitting out for the last few years. hopefully a good message will brighten it up a bit. the engine bay is mostly fine covered with dirt. my friend popped the distributor open and its brand new like. sorry about the 13b-rew. i was thinking that you were putting in a third gen motor due to your thread heading. guess i should read better huh. i was going to come in sat night but i'll probably get in depth with this project tomorrow. there are a trillion things to fix and restore so i have my work cut out. luckily i'll have 3-4 people working on it tomorrow.

ok, got it here today. stripped everything except the front vinyl, top dash, and front carpet. we got it to fire up last night but by pouring fuel in the carbs. the fuel is not making it to the front. pump is working and the fuel is coming through the filter, which i'm repacing tomorrow. tore a fuel tube in the process. i should replace all the rubber bought i think that will wait a bit as money is geting shorter. washed all the plastic and, weather depending, will start to repaint with plasti-kote tomorrow. more on the site sometime tonight. thanks for the complements guys. and yes it sent up a mt saint helens for the 3 sec it ran.

haha, 3 car garage would be a dream. "oh ****, i dropped a bolt. i know its somewhere in the gravel." my gf suggested i use my roll-board. i had to laugh. roll on the gravel eh? so then i thought about getting some rc car offroad wheels to replace the metal ones but by that time the board wouldn't fit under the car, let alone with me. i'm just hoping the carb is in better shape then the fuel lines. one hurdle to the next. kind of pisses me off since the guy acted like it wouldn't take much to get it running. now i'm out of cash and it doesn't look to be in any shape to run, let alone autox. luckily kilr is bailing my out in that department by purchasing this parts car and allowing me to pull parts i need to get mine up to par, plus a set of tires that aren't from 1980.
Lookin good
Wish I was there, and could help
oh well, I got my own project goin on.............
What type of paint did you use to paint the interior???

oh yeah and my friend gave me has old carbon fiber wanna be shift ****. despite my normal shun of wanna be ****, its pretty nice. its the same shape and size as the one i want, i just want suede. and a suede racing wheel, sparco seat.................
I am gonna have to pick some of that paint up
Your car is gonna be AWESOME...... I tried some of this wax stuff, and it basically restores the paint..... I think it was some sorta turtle wax....I will find it, and tell you..... Anyways, that stuff works pretty good..... It will make that red paint look new.... But you have to rub it on, and that is tiring.....

my paint problem is past "fixing". the front plate on the nose is straight faded. there are multiple spots where the clear coat is gone. dime sized rust spots here and there that need tending. its going to need some patching until i can afford to get it painted. the fiberglass has faded past help as well. the airdam has a ton of rock chips. i figure i can handle repainting the molding for now and patch the red until i can afford the repaint.
