mster cylinder ideas when doing the 4 piston front caliper conversion

im in the process of doing the Respeed front brake upgrade and i got to thinking that my master cylinder may be inefficient. this is all going in an 1980 SA. i was planning on swapping in the GSLSE master cylinder and proportioning valve as i have these at hand. would it be a better idea to swap in the T2 master cylinder? if i go that route wouldnt i also need to swap in the T2 booster? when swapping the booster i think what it requires is 2 of the booster spacers along with some minimal grinding on the clutch master cylinder. is all of this correct? do i need to swap to the T2 or stick with the GSLSE stuff? thanks

Compare sizes before you do anything. The later 4 piston cars have a 7/8" master cyl. I forget what the FB's have. If its smaller you will have a lighter pedal to lock the fronts but you may end up with screwed up bias front to rear. I'd try whatever is in the car then if there is major problems like locking the rears easily go to the other option. It could be as simple as changing brake pads to different friction material if the bias isn't to far off. Or add a bias adjustment device.

TII,GXL,VERT or GTU 2nd gen master cylinder, prop valve and booster will bolt into a 1st gen chassis with only a little work.
Ive been running one for years with my Selectmaz big brake setup.Works and feels like a stock 2nd gen because everything is sized and matched correctly.

thanks steve. if im not mistaken all i need to do is gring the clutch master cylinder and use two spacers at the firewall, correct? i found a T2 booster and MC. the owner said he didnt remember a spacer when he took it off.

Yep,there should be two spacers used, so the rod length is correct.
His spacer is probably stuck to the firewall,or better yet, stuck to the booster.Dont forget the prop valve too.

Balance should be pretty close when running GSL rear discs.I run SE rear discs which are only a hair smaller than stock TII rears.
