MSD Ignition System

Has anyone here run the dual MSD 6A Ignition system yet. I have wired my boxes up but want to know if anyone has noticed a power difference. I'm waiting on E-Bay write now for some headers and a new intake.

I run a Single MSD 6a direct fire system on my -SE.. I noticed it rev'd quicker and it was mush smoother...Also a slight increase in power aswell... It was worth it in my opinion.

I'm running a singel MSD 6a in direct fie mode and consider it eh best money I have spent on both my 1st gen's.

Better start up
Very Smoother idle
Very smooth throughout the rpm range and it deosn't fall off at around 7 g's as some have cited.
better response
better fuel economy (but not much)
Better emmisions (less stinky)
easier on plugs - less fouling, better wear

More Power? I don't know..maybe - but the reason I added the box was for much improved driveability and dependability over the crappy ignitors that seem to go on you at the worst possible times.

I'm wiring it with the 2 MSD 6A boxes and the 2 MSD coils. I know you can splice the distributor wire from the MSD box and run it to both of the coils. I talked to MSD Tech line the other day and they said that one box is good but 2 are better .. Run the Orange and black wires to the distributor. The red wire will go to your ignition switch. For race it will run into your switch panel. For road it will hook right into the black and whitee wire that already is leading to your distributor. The larger red and black wire will go straight to your battery. If there is a plug on the side of the box than that will be for your tach. The white wire will go to your crank ignition trigger which I don't think you will have. Threr should be a purple and some other color wire near the tach hook up. That will go to your distributor if you had an MSD one. MSD does not make for 1st Gen that I know of so those wires I don't have to mess with.

I took a piece of of car repair sheetmetal which you can pick up at most auto stores and bent the bottom portion of it. The width of the piece was perfect for the poxes. I then painted it with the same color of the engine bay. I removed the sub zer box and placed the new bracket and boxes there directly against the firewall. If you need to use the sub-zero box then you can remount it behind the right headlight housing. The windshield wiper bucket does not have to be moved. I then ran the wire in a loom around the firewall and striaght to the battery and coils.
