here's a pic of the diagram i have for running one msd box on a rotary. (my scanner is dead) i'll try and explain;

the heavy red and black wires are to the battery. the single wire on the opposite side is the tach output. the orange and black wire go to the leading coil. then you run wires from the leading coil to the trailing coil. leave the original wires that were on the trailing coil disconnected. the smaller red and white wires connect to the original wires that were connected to the leading coil. if it doesnt make sense, i'll try again in a different way maybe. hope this helps, it's really simple. the best way to do it though is with TWO MSD BOXES.

k, go to www.summitracing.com and you can get an msd 6a box for like $150.00. the best way to go about it is getting two msd boxes. they're simple as hell to hook up and they burn HELLA more fuel so you gain some serious power on rotaries. mainly in the low-end section which you notably feel on the 12a's. OH YEA! it's definitely worth it.

Somebody else is interested, but I don't want a bidding war to start (or maybe I do? heheh). $150 is what I'd like to get out of it.

So is the dlidfis,set up really noticeable?

I need to redo my ignition/spark system soon,Right now im runnign FC trailing coils,which I will keep till they burn out.

How will it efect to run just 1 MSD box compared to 2?
I need to look into this area of mod which I have not done yet..and need to do soon..so anyone want to PM me and give me details or AIM me..

I was going to list it on eBay and I think it would sell for around $150 which seems to be the average for a 6AL in mint condition (the laquer job could have been done better, but it still looks new). Brand new ones still in the box go for more, 6A versions go for less. It was originally purchased for $200 and was installed for a few months in my non-daily driver REPU. I only put around 100 miles on it. I've only gone around 960 miles after removing it in August '01, so that gives you an idea how often I drive my REPU. Anyway, It comes with all stickers and instructions, RPM chips or 'pills' as they're sometimes called (on a rotary, I'd use the 8k one), screws, rubber standoffs, and any other mechanical hardware that it came new with. I ended up using most of the electrical connectors while installing it, but they were just cheap connectors that most people already have. None of the wire loops were cut so you can still use it on a V6 or V8. I did however modify the magnetic pickup connector (the short one with green and purple wires) so it can be used in place of the stock Leading ignitor on the dizzy. It fits nice and tightly in the stock plastic connector and holds pretty well. You can zip-tie it to your stock wiring harness for extra security (to keep it from vibrating out). You should be up and running in no time. All you'd need are a couple of electrical connectors which you probably already have laying around.

I'd like to get $150 for it because that's the going rate and I need to do a brake job on my MG Midget. I'm not sure what shipping would be ($5-10?). I accept Paypal and personal checks. I'd need to cash the check before shipping to you, but Paypal would be best. I could handle a money order too, if that would work best for you.

By the way, if you're interested, I'll throw in a dead ignitor that I Dremeled out to hold the MSD's magnetic pickup wires on the plastic connector in the dizzy. It pushes them quite firmly against the plastic connector and eliminates the possibility of them vibrating out. It worked perfectly. It'd be great for racing too! Interested?
