How rich are you?

Direct fire is much cheaper and works.

there are better things to spend your money on than an MSD Box.

$ 4 $ a 3rd coil an a couple of GM HEI can't be beat

I have the MSD system. It works fine but I noticed no difference when I went from the distributor to the MSD direct fire system. If you're car is running well, don't bother.

If you're looking for an improvement, use new parts rather than junk yard parts. I did DLIDFIS with two Blaster coils and GM HEI igniters and saw a marked improvement. Now revs without missing to 7K+. I left the trailing ignition alone and everything in place to go back to stock if desired, or to run both leading plugs off one igniter if needed. Total investment was about $100.
