Mound Restoration 2003 website UPDATED 3-2-03

For those of you following my engine cleaning and restoration, I added two more pages (2-23-03 and 3-2-03) as well as a "home" page. I'll flesh out the home page a little more later on, just wanted to get it up for now.

Some pics of the OMP dismantled, a little more engine bay cleaning (I'm slow, lazy maybe, whichever) and some other pics.

Lookin' good! Do you plan on replacing the 12 washers in your oil injector assemblies? In my experience those things are a one-time-use type of deal...

After getting a quote of ~$500 for gaskets and washers from Mazda...I decided to reuse them. My mechanic/ Mazda connect said it should be fine. I may try to find them cheaper at an Auto Parts store. Don't want any leaks.

You've found you can only use them once?

Right on.

Yup. Once. Not in that particular application, but I had one spew fuel at an alarming rate - like a pin-hole in a garden hose. Replaced it and no leak. Those particular washers could be picked up for cheap at an auto supply store. They get scored when everything gets tightened down. After you take things apart they never get oriented exactly the same when you reassemble. Can't be more than a couple bucks for those. Worth it to me.

Does that one guy that sells the $10 12A OMP rebuild kits sell the kits for the 13B OMPs also?

~T.J.

EDIT: Strike that, I just saw that you ordered one from Lowe already .

yeah, $25, a bit pricey IMO, but they include the seal from OMP to engine. I don't even know if mine was leaking interntally, but something was leaking.

Right on.
