motor and trainy mounts

ok i did a search and you know with the amount of question that are out there and just the basic talk there is a lot to sift though. I have found mods after mods for them.

What i'm looking for is a place to buy motor mounts and a trainy mount. that is it. I'm going to go and check victoria british or what have you right now... but let me know if there is a better place to go.

Banzi (SP??) has a set of poly replacements but they are a bit high. Not sure how the price compares to the factory parts.

If it isn't informative, at least it's amusing!

My problem with doing solid and welding is that i don't mind the vibrations... if they are supposed to be there. at 2.5k i get a bit of a shake like the universial joint is loose... but i have shaken it down ... it smooths out about 3.5k with some shaking.. no big deal just a full time back massage. the shaking at idle and at 2.5k while sitting still or when i do not have a load on the car ie if costing at about 35mph i get the same wabble feeling .. i don't like it that tells me something is loose... figured that suring up the mounts would help. I don't have a weilder nor do i don't someone right now that could help me with that type of thing. I personally would rather the motor not move and put more power to the rear end. just need something i can do myself for right now until i get to know more people from my area. But i'm ready to order now... just to make sure i'm not having a drive shaft problem.

Thx for the help yall.. i may get the banzia motor mounts and then find a good trainy mount. or just find a way to solid bolt it to the frame.

not to hijack here either... but on this topic of motor and tranny mounts:
Since rubber deteriorates, does anyone have any input/experience on replacing the unbroken but deteriorated mounts on these 21+ year old first gens to reduce vibration?

My approach to my 7 has been, if it aint broke, don't fix it, but the gains in vibration reduction by replacing the aged mounts - motor and tranny, is the main question.

guess one things that should be also clearified is that vibrating and shaking are 2 different things.

Shaking is what i should have used. when my dash rattles and stopps and then rattles again.

vibration is when i'm just driving down the road and have the motor and trainy under a load.

slowing down while not under a load = shaking.
driving down the road = vibrations steady with out increase or decrease
idle = steady but shaking at the same time.

I just cut out alot of the shaking by new shocks and struts. also the new set of tires are doing really well. just a few more things and will be all set with drive train until i get the $$ to do the hub and rear end swap.

ok so i'm going over board with some of this stuff but i just want to ty and get as much on one page as possible for searching and everything.

I have found a few sites.

http://www.lightningmotorsports.com - they sell a varity of things. Energy Suspention has what seems to be all bushings for 1st gens. there are also other things on the site that might help out other members.

i think that i'm going to give them a call and see what a full replacement for all bushing would cost. and also see if they have mounts for motor and trainy.

theres alot of places out there that make the mounts and bushings, one you already discoverd and that energy suspension but they only have them in seperate kits, try ebay i saw a master kit for all the bushings on the first gen....like 160$ for it....as far as vibration goes, like someone said (cant remember who...) thats allway going to be there....like i just put some nice poly mounts and trans mount on like a day ago and its still vibing but i like it makes it seem powerful....anyway if you want i could sell you my oem mounts wodihor (there still hella good.), if you dont find anything, but im sure you will..so just an idea....
