motor mounts

i was going to be making some of my own delrin or aluminum or some other material motor mounts for my se. i am just wondering 1. what are the dimensions for the stock mounts (mine are still in my car, and want to make the mounts without buying new or taking mine out, until i'm done). and 2. what would be better. do aluminum ones give a lot more vibration?

If you're talking about replacing the rubber portion of the mounts with aluminium, then yes you will have a lot more vibration than you have now...

Personally? I am going to invest in some poly urethane mounts from Banzai Racing... but that's just my personal preference.

I haven't gotten around to installing mine yet, but they're just hockey pucks sandwiched between two pieces of sheet metal with a hole drilled through. They're about 1 1/4" tall.

if you give me a day or 2 i will go out the garage and get some dims on them....PercentSevenC ive heard and witnessed a lot of people using hockey pucks. aluminum wouldnt be that hard to make them just remember that you need a bolt with the proper grade to handle the vibrations.

This thread comes up every once in a while. If you want isolation, drilling a hole in a hockey puck won't do it. The bolt will short circuit the joint, and you'd be better off with a solid bushing that won't come loose. If you wan't something stiffer, get the competition mounts from Mazdatrix, that actually provide some isolation.
