Most Rx7 owners Geeks?

Just stole this topic from a previous thread? Post what you do (for a job) and if you think you are a geek.

I am in college right now for mechanical engineering, but work full time as a Designer for an engineering firm. The previous owner of my 7 was was an electronics engineer......

College major is Computer network engineering/Administration...

Job history is short enough to list...

First job was Movie theater concessionist... Would never do it again. I hate customers and after that job, I now hate popcorn... That was 6 years ago.

Occasionally I was an Apprentice electician. The unions hire students over the summer here. Electricians make damn good cash. Loved it.

Hotel/Conference resort A/V tech... Had to wear a suit and tie. Hated that aspect. Made 4 digit paychecks every two weeks. Loved that aspect.

Computer technician... One time government contractor, another time for a computer rental company. Had to deliver computers for the rental company... Offroaded and drifted the Econolines, Neutral bombed and did burnouts in the 7 ton Isuzu NPR box truck. Got it to a top speed of 87 MPH when it's governed at 65.

Mechanic at local tire shop. Loved it, except for being rushed... I like to make sure brakes don't squeak, battery terminals are clean, and alignments are dead on perfect. None of this just barely in spec and coming back for follow-up repairs.

Right now, I'm an electronics technician for a Microwave communications company. We make satellite, radar, and cell phone transmitter parts. All custom, small production, made to customer's spec.

Yeah... I'm a geek.

I'm an engineer, working mostly with RF. I prefer the word "nerd", though.

used to be an engineer, thats what i was going to college for, but i hated it, so i dropped out and started my own business. That and I take a couple classes at the local college, but for stuff I enjoy, not worthless calc classes. Guess I'm not geeky enough to enjoy math, lol

Hmm....

I was an internet sales manager for 2 car dealerships for 3 years.

Then worked as a data technician for an internet company that collected car inventory info, took the pictures of cars, etc...

Now, I just sit home all day, selling junk on Ebay.

I don't know if that makes me a geek, or a nerd.......or just lazy.

Nerd here, been on computers since 1988 (that would make me 5 when I first started) now I am in college as a CS major looking into going into software engineering, (I code therefor I am, Codito Ergo Sum) As said in other thread I am an avid Linux user, but have had to use windoze for games, and yess the 7 will have a mini-ITX Linux box in it hooked perminately to my Haltech, along w/ the pioneer sound system.

I'm a self-employed electronic repairman specializing in analog recording devices. I suppose that's a bit nerdy, but at least I'm not a Cyberdork, or a Compudweeb.
