More quiet exhaust questions

Well i just read all 9 pages of the quiet yet straight through exhaust possible thread and am really interested in this. The only problem is that in all of that thread the discussion is using magnaflow or borla as a presilencer, and then somethign else as an actaul muffler.

I already have the RB header and presilencer and was wondering if putting a borla pro xs or soemthing of the same likes at the end of the exhaust setup would yeild the same results? I just need something to replace the rear muffler that will be straight through but have a deep and quiet noise...if thats possible.

Any input would be greatly apreciated. I have no emisions to pass so that is not an issue, i just have to not get harassed by the police for being to loud

Putting just a straight through muffler after a RB header and presilencer will be louder than the "Quiet yet straight-through exhaust" thread starter's exhaust. He has another Magnaflow thrown in the mix as a 2nd silencer. I'm sure having just the header > Presilencer > muffler wouldn't be TOO much louder, though, and will probably still sound pretty good.

you can use the RB muffler. however you may want to think about throwing in a resonator. it'll act as a silerncer whil maintaining a straight through design. i used one and i am pleased with the results that it yielded.

the rb muffler is really expensive thou. i already have a presilencer, so putting a resonator in will be a problem with space.

Just use the RB Streetport muffler. It's amazingly straight through and has a really nice tone to it. You can find one used for a decent price

Something that is Overlooked. The Fact is that If you Like the Sound Of Racing Beat,BUT,you don't want to Shell out the Bucks, they do Sell Exhaust Parts.Instead of Spending 220 on a Muffler(sorry Sec Gen),they have the Same thing without the Fancy Pipes for 90.If you are into Welding, you can make up a Good Racing Beat exhaust For Half the Price of the Pre-made one.You may want to check it out for the Heck of it.

Not sure if I understand what you are saying. Are you saying that RB has a muffler that you can weld on without the pipes attached? If so, hook me up with a part number. I will buy that **** RIGHT NOW.

It's just a universal muffler. It's not like the main mufflers

Never seen the RB main muffler without the inlet pipes.RB has them made in Italy, its not like they are made in house.

You can buy just the big, pre-silencer for the TII and use that as a main muffler.Itll hold up and flow well, but its still WAY loud.
I know,I have one setup to quick change out with my RB main muffler. The RB TII pre-silencer is as loud as any other straight through muffler and doesnt feel any quicker than the quiet RB muffler,so I rarely use it. And its not 90 bucks either....

Ahh.....I see them now,.....thats new....

Yea,those are universal and dont look to have much more packing than the regular RB presilencers. It looks like they are selling them mainly for their robustness, all stainless and such. They dont look bad at all, especially for 90 bucks, but they are not the same thing.
The main mufflers have a lot of internal volume and packing. They are heavy, but can pass for stock in appearance and sound...In fact, compared to the cost of a stocker, they are a bargain.Ive seen them advertised as being intended for use as a stock replacement. They cost a lot because they work very, very well.....

borlas give a very nice low tone for rotaries
on my 12a turbo I did 3inch exhaust with borla racing muffler back to a magnaflow dual 2.5" exhaust

gives it a factory look and very deep tone
