Unhappy More problems then I can imagine

Well I am still trying to get my cd player working and here are the only things i've done so far this morning that could've made my rpm guage stop working I am guessing. I took out all the fuses and checked to make sure none of them were blown and they were all good. I took out the driver side cubby to see the amp and rear speaker wires located back there but didn't disconnect anything just looked. Lastly I was just trying to see if there was any wires that could've maybe been not connected and saw what looked to be like a fuse and a 4 connecter under the shift boot so I thought for some odd reason maybe it would do something so I connected them tried and got nothing. Now I started up my car after I disconnected the fuse thing again and my rpm guage doesn't work. What the hell happened? Can anyone please help me I am having so many problems here all I wanted to do was install a cd player . I thought somethign was off when I turned my car to the on position to see if my cd player would work and none of the red lights came on on the dash which freaked me out. Help anyone?

Tach

Tach is read off the trailing ignitor. Check this first. rx7doctor

Ignitor

trailing ignitor is the one closest to the radiator located on the side of the distributor. Usuall set up test lamps to test. All you have to do is switch connections between the 2 ignitors and coil wires and start vehicle. If tach runs then ignitor is bad also car will run like crap because you will be running off trailing side only when you switch. rx7doctor

Ok i'll check this also though why doesn't any of the lights come on the dash when I have the car on the on position or acc position. Could I have accidently pulled something to all of the fuses when I was trying to check them all?

You could have blown a fuse when you were checking the harness under the shift boot. Recheck the fuses. Are all of your interior lights out, or just the gauge lights?

Just the guage lights. My turn signals dont work or any of that if I have the car on rpm guage doesnt work but my hazards make the turn signals come on and stuff. I was checking fuses again and for some reason it doesnt look like the right numbers are even in the right spots. Does anyone have a picture of how the 1985 gs fuse box should look and all the designated fuse numbers that should be in each spot I am thinking the previous owner has the wrong fuse numbers in there. Also what should I check for the symptons I have.

Ok I checked my fuses and here is what the numbers are. They are totally off from what the diagram tells me they are supposed to be.

LH - RH

20 10
15 15
20 15
10 20
30 30
15 20
-----15
(had to put the -- in there so i could put the 15 on that side)

Now I changed the ACC ones so they were right a 10a for cigar and 20a for radio antenna but I still am not getting any display on my cd player. Also my rpm guage does still not work does anyone know what to do with the symptoms I posted in the post above this?
