So I took the 7 for a "real" test drive today. Everything is good except the clutch. I have to press it all the way to the floor and even then it is VERY hard to get into gear no grinding just hard. I checked the around and found the specs for my clutch and it says it should be 3in off the floor when fully engaged and it should only have 1-6mm of clutch play and I have like 5 inchs of play! Do I need a new clutch or is there anything else I can do? Thanks again everybody!

Good idea ^^^ also have your friend pump the clutch and see if your slave cylinder is moving and pushing the fork. slave cylinder might need to be gone through or it may need to be replaced. same for the clutch master cylinder. I would flush out the fluid and replace it with some new brake fluid.

the clutch pedal is adjustable. if it is hard to get in gear and the hydraulic system is bled properly, you may have other issues such as pilot bearing failure, input shaft bearing failure, a bad pressure plate, etc.. start by adjusting the pedal to spec and bleeding and let us know what happens from there.

Alright guys I'll try to bleed it and check all that stuff. Then on to fix up those "speed holes"! I'll let you know how I make out. Dan S Young have you heard of a good place in calgary to take this 7?

Well im not sure if you mean as far as shops go or as far as driving goes. I would just like to take my car for a good mountain pass when it reaches completion. As far as good shops go, Calgary has RX-7 specialties but RESEARCH, before you go there. People have alot of mixed reviews of them (im not going to get off topic).

Bad clutch slaves are very common.
Its a good idea to replace the rubber hose and master cylinder along with the slave cylinder,to prevent cross contamination of the new parts. If bleeding doesnt help,be prepared to get some new parts.
And be carful forcing the gears.Try pumping the pedal a few times before you push on the shifter.Excess force on the gearbox can bend shift forks and cause permanent damage.
