More 12a Turbos?

I've been crusing this forumn for a while and it seems to me that more and more posts are popping up about turboing their 12a's vs the 13b's? I remember when the 13bt swap was a sticky at the top of the page.

Now i thought the advantage was the obvious 30HP gain with the 13b and a slightly* beefer engine.

I'm just wondering if i am missing something; more simplicity of the 12a, availability of parts? Now that i think about it blowthrough is probably the reason but what do most people think about this?

If you're gonna go turbo might as well get a 13b and bridgeport and maybe something like a T51S turbo. That'll get you moving pretty quick.

well, i can't speak for anyone else but... i already have the 12a... turboing it is cheaper than getting a whole other engine. And, i kinda like using what i have... kinda like "run what ya brung"??? Dunno cuz even to me it doesn't make sense execpt in the mindset of economy and being different.

i like my 12a, IMO its a faster, higher reving motor.... plus you do not have to worry about changing **** in your engine bay. better power to wait ratio too . although 13b parts are WAY easier to find, 12a-t blowthrough ownz all......haha
