Moon roof nuts found!

Toyota sells ALMOST perfect moon roof nut replacements. they're a tad longer than the stocks, and to compensate for this, I took my latch assembly and used a dremel tool to widen the underside of it just enough to let the retainer nuts fit. the rubber gromets that come with them are a hair to thick, so you can sand them down on the sides, or cut them.

They come off of a Sienna, and a few other vehicles.

PART NUMBER: 62735-95D00

I paid 9 dollars for each, and like 1.30 for the gromets.

(I just wanted to post this so the info gets known and hopefully spread!

also - does anyone know if the rubber seal that goes on the metal sunroof is supposed to go on the glass one?

Sounds like a good solution.

The rubber seal (actually black plastic, I think) that goes around the metal sunroof is not used on the glass roof.

Oh, okay. I wasn't sure if it was a seal or just a cover for the metal edge.

It's just trim - - doesn't touch the body when closed. leastwise, mine never did.

Excellent find; Toyota has made Siennas for a long, long time - should be a part with long availability. Should even have good junkyard potential.

Great find Miles, thanks for posting. So a Q:
If, as you say, they are a "tad long" AND "the grommets are a hair thick" - ?? so would the thicker grommets NOT offset the longer bolts problem?? I guess some pixs here to clarify would be sweet-

I'll be nabbing some pics in a bit - not at home with the 7. but the seals are to thick where they go through the glass. the height of them is about the same, it looks to me.
