monza muffler for FB?

i was paging through the new victoria british catalog and the monza exhaust parts caught my eye.

anyone have experience w/ monza parts? do they hold up well to rotary? do they sound alright? do they bolt right up?

that muffler seems to be quite reasonably priced.

No.

do they sound alright?
Not after a month or two when the muffler burns out.

do they bolt right up?
Most of the time, no.

that muffler seems to be quite reasonably priced.
Cause its very low quality.

Save your money and buy a quality muffler from HKS, RB, or Apex'i.

ACK! Listen I have a monza muffler with the yellow tips (which are black after 4 drives) on my 7 and it's loud sounds like a large buzzing bee. It took me and my neighbor to force the stupid thing under the car. It is not be any means a straight bolt on. Once we got it on, it stuck way out from rear of the car. I went to a welding shop to get my straight pipe and they had to move it back becuase there was too much tention on the bolts that was holding the monza muffler on. Oh, and the don't even think about the pace setter header in the VB catalog. The predrilled holes don't match up. I guess you get what you paid for. Get a header and muffler form Racing Beat. When I get the money together that's what I'm doing.

thanks for the caution, guys.

are there any mufflers from HKS, RB, or Apex'i that look stock or a little bigger and have a mellow sound?

pics would be cool since my muffler upgrade will be for aesthetic improvement as much as functionality.

been shopping for a few months and haven't found anything i really like yet.

IMHO the only muffler worth buying is the RB Powerpulse. BTW it looks very similar to stock, and it's only a little louder, but has a real deepe, mellow tone. Not at all 'tinny' sounding like most other mufflers. I've had one for a few years and love it.

Well i have a Pacesetter Header on my GSL-SE and I didn't have any problems matching it up.....Unless you are talking about to the exhaust, In that case i don't know since i have a Custom made one. The quality of the header doesn't seem too bad... It did burn off the paint but i have seen many RB headers do the same.... I have had it for about 8 months now without any problems

RB headers are made much much better. I've had them both. The flange and piping on the Pacesetter are like half as thick as the RB one. My RB header is chrome. ALL painted headers are going to burn the paint off (assuming you drive the car), I don't see why they bother painting them...

have you looked inside the headers? where the2 pipes come into the collector is a welded mess! the exhaust is squeezed between the 'clam shell' of where the header pipes enter the collector. lots of excess metal pipe in the collector that should not be there. poooooooor quality. and the smell of burning paint, which will last for many many moons(the smell, not the paint) is awful! i tried to save money getting the pacesetter stuff, now i have to buy another exhaust system. and it's not even been a whole year. not very cost effective, eh?
