i think it would look better to paint over it, because if you left it black, the black stripe would just kinda end, as opposed to stock, where it continues down the sides. ill attempt to attach a pic (if the forum is in a good mood today) of my dads race car with the molding painted the same color as the car.

you also have to take into account the 200 dollar race car paint job with the cinder chips and tire rubber on it. it would look much better on a street car.

I took the molding off both my racecars when I painted them. When I repaint my street7, I'm going to do the same. I think it gives it a much cleaner look to the car. But, that may be because the molding on all my cars looks like **** to begin with.

I'm also tempted to try and smooth out the stripe on the bumpers, just to see what it looks like without it. I think it would make the bumpers have a much smoother appearance.

and you notice on the race car, I left the small pieces on the very front and back of the car. This is only because the SRX7 rules say those reflecters must be there, so by keeping that molding, it protects them in case a little bumping and rubbing goes on with another car. HOPEFULLY you wont have to worry about this on the street

Hehe... we're going to change our rules to make removing those side marker lights okay. Why? Because everybody here keeps having to replace them and they're running out of places to find them.

Before you paint and after you have the molding off it is a good time to remove the side markes and fill them in also

*note* May be illegal in some areas, (most), and could cause many unknown vehicles to sideswipe your car.

but it does look sooooo good
