MMO/Seafoam, but don't freak out about it!

I know this has been argued oh so many times, and I'm not here for any of that.
I Usually add seafoam to my oil and gas tank. I bought a bottle of MMO tonight and am interested in using it.
Simply put, will it hurt to put seafoam in the oil/gas tank, and then MMO in it as well afterwards? I'm not sure if they would mix and make it better or worse.

I would wait to run out of gas and do an oil change before putting the MMO in just to be on the safe side.

I don't have experience with mixing the two but I wouldn't try to just beacuse you never know how different chemicals will react. Experiment with it in a controled situation where you can't possibly hurt your engine. And put together a result based on your own experience. 2 Buckets, oil, gas,MMO,seafoam.

LongDuck had a negative experience with using MMO in the oil.

Seaform would have the same effect. In other words like the mmo in the oil it will eat all the "good" carbon that's holding your seals in place. IMO using the MMO in the fuel is fine.

On new(er) rebuilds? In LongDuck's case, he put it in a high mileage -SE 13B and it apparently took out the "good" carbon assisting the worn oil seals, causing leakage and smoking. On a new motor, I wouldn't see that being a problem.

the engine i did it to was an 83 junk yard 12a with 100k+ miles on it.
I put it in my 85 car cause it was in good shape in 1999 and raced it for about 3 years. It say 8500rpms regularly and occasionally close to 9k.

Every other fill up i put MMO in the gas and allmost allways has some in the oil.

the engine is still running great today. Its been relocated to an automatic rx7 for the time being.

If carbon is the only thing holding your motor together id say its pretty much on its last legs anyways

My engines have in order: 187,000, 126,000, 175,000 miles all use MMO in oil and fuel. All run great. I am trying out Amsoil Synthetic in the 126,00 engine.

Good choice on the Amsoil. Running good oil like that makes a product like MMO in the oil totally unnessesary.

I've got 207,000 on the SE. Smokes on startup. I'm going to try Lucas oil stabilizer.
I run Amsoil 2-cycle oil in the gas for extra protection.

Planning on going premix and eliminating the OMP completely, will use the Amsoil 2 stroke mix. I have stopped using MMO with the Synthetic as mentioned.

synth oil in a street engine isnt really that fantastic of an idea.
in the long term it can be a problem at the very least.

BS, what problem can a better lubricant that burns cleaner in the fuel mix be?

I have been using Lucas Oil Stabilizer and it has helped the smoking i also occasionally run Super-tech 2cycle ( yes its wal mart brand) but it burns cleanly.

As others have mentioned, I had a bad experience with MMO in the oil. Fuel is fine - since you don't want to argue the finer points, I'll leave it at that!
