No it won't. Made the mistake of purchasing for my 85 and found out the hard way it didn't fit

Reading the link reveals it can work with early version trannys, like maybe 79-83.
Do some more searches as the link RX-7Doctor supplied mentions an archive on doing it.

This works better on the 84-85 trans shifter surrounds since those don't have the machined-in lower bushing. 81-83 you have to machine or file down the metal insert to accommodate for the extra 1/4" of the machined-in lower bushing. Either way it's a great bolt on! I'm going to be installing one of these in my turbo swap.
