I personally did not upgrade the AP, although I did remove the control (shutter) valve from the intake manifold. I used some of that magnum steel epoxy type stuff they have at auto zone. Worked really good. No pics, sorry.

4 bolts is all that holds the intake on. the gasket must have it stuck really good. those hex bolts ur talking about are plugs in the coolant passage. and i never added any more gaskets after making the secondaries mechanical.

Yeah, there's only 4 bolts, but there's 2 nuts too. The 4 bolts you can see, they're on the corners, but the 2 nuts are on the inner part, under the intake manifold. Just feel around there, you'll find them.

If I remember right, it does cover up a little bit of the ports on the engine, but the intake manifold's runners are smaller, so it doesn't cover them up at all.

Yea I wish I would have known about the coolent also, I should have known better but i want thinking clearly. As it exploded all over my garage floor.

The intake on the engine are larger than the ones on the manifold, and the gasket will cover part of the intake up, but it is supposed to be like that.

As you can see form the pictues below

It's for the EGR, the carbon buildup is from exhaust going through it.

Exhaust gas recirculation. I would tell you just to fill that square port in the engine with JB weld, but I don't know how it'll affect a stock car, I've only done it to one with a weber.

Yes I was right about the EGR!!

When I got my new RB intake for my dell it didnt have a spot for it, I just bolted it on, didnt bother to fill it with JB, not worth it IMO.

JB weld is a shade tree mechanics best friend!

It is a compound that seals, bonds, etc.. You can use it for many applications. I have used to to hold my stereo headunit to my custom mount bracket in my pinto. Broke off a plactic lens cap on my light on my pinto JB wled that back together! Its the bomb! way stronger than super glue!
