Mech Secondaries

Hey I have an 82 rx7. I've switched the carbs out from 82 to 84 then to 79. I was wondering are the mech secondaries supposed to open when u push the throttle down or not? The 79 I have does and the 82 and 84 don't. I thought there was a write up about this in the archives, but couldn't find it. Thanks to anyone who helps and feel free to call me an idiot if there is a write up.

Mechanical Secondaries are an owner mod. It is not any model year
A bread tie – etc.

There are many write up on how to. If the Carb has Mechanical Secondaries they will open on any 7 or sitting on the bench when the throttle opens.

The stock setup uses a vacuum actuator to move the secondaries. This setup will never open just sitting in the driveway working the linkage or revving the motor. They will only open while under true driving conditions.
