maximum oil pressure.
maximum oil pressure.
i recently installed a 100psi oil pressure regular in my 13-B SP. i also shimmed the front cover with the washers it came with. but instead of just putting 2 washers, i put 6 to make sure that i get a high pressure. . got it running but now, i think the pressure is too high. i have a autometer 100psi gauge and at 4K rpm, the pressure is way pass 100. maybe 140 or more. whats the downside of this other than over working the oil pump.
btw, its a 76 13-b with 100psi regulator & gsl-se goodies such as oil pump, front cover and oil metering pump.
thanks

yea killing the dowel o rings, oil control rings, and if the oil is going that fast then it might not have time to do the temp soaking its does... leading to higher motor temps in the water. would prob kill a oil cooler or really stress the weak points
