manifold question

I finally got a factory manifold and carb setup. I went to work on removing the emissions, converting to mech secondaries, etc. I got the manifold almost done. Pics included, and yes its chopped and welded.

The question I have is on the damn shutter valve. I tried searching but got mixed answers. Some say wire or jb weld it open. Some say remove it completely, and then others say NOT to remove it. Something about it being to "open" on that runner with it removed. I just want a straight response. What should I do?

I WAS just gonna remove it initially. Until I got to reading then I just got confused due to the mixed answers I came up with. But if you guys are runnin fine without it then its gone. Like the other holes, their gettin welded shut.

Oh, how do you like my revised manifold so far? We lopped off that big section, cleaned it up, welded it shut, made the block-off plate, etc. So far to the best of my knowledge I'm the only thats chopped that section off. I could go even further with it, and eliminate every big section of metal thats not needed but I wanted an answer on this first. These pics do this manifold no justice as to how much better it looks. I'm proud of my handiwork, can you tell?

take a dremel and cut that sh*t out, then just fill the tiny hole up, where the rods were.

Well...I hope hes not gonna tell me to leave the shutter valve in, because I've already removed it and welded the holes shut.

I just dont understand why theres the debate over it. Everything I read from my searching yielded noone with proof as to whether it should stay or go. Theres obviously guys running with and without it and both have the claim their cars run fine. I'm beginning to believe its simply a matter of personal preference till someone can factualy prove something. I really wish someone with some hardcore knowledge on this would chime in.
