mallory 4309 FPR?

I just picked up a new 4309 FPR but it did not come with any instructions. Can someone please tell me which ports are in and out and which one for the return. I will be using a Weber carb.

Thanks, Ed

all side ports can be used for fuel inlet and carb feed line.. the port on the bottom of the regulator is for your fuel return line...

any of the sides is outlet with the bottom being the return.

Nothing like chilling at the computer desk drinking some cold Mikes and researching RX-7 stuff late at night.

I have the 4309 hooked up to the stock feed & return line with a summit 0-15psi guage at start-up it will read like 5.5psi but after running her around the block a few times it will go down to 3.5psi is this normal? Or do I need a larger return line. (carbs are RE dual 36dcd's and psi readings are at idle....

do you have the vacuum// boost port hooked up? if yes, when your car is running your motors vacuum will pull the fuel pressure down, when you accelerate, your vacuum drops, raising the fuel pressure....
your return line is fine, leave it alone

Thanks guys!
Robert I'm going to run the motor NA first until I get it broken in. Do I just leave the vac port open until I add the snail?

Thanks, Ed

I dont have the reference port hooked up yet as I am not turbocharged just yet but will be soon which is why I purchased this particular regulator. So even still... It is normal for the pressure to settle down after the car warms up?

I think this is more of a gauge issue rather than the fpr. I had the same problem on mine. I ran both the Holley fpr and now the Mallory 4309, with the same gauge. The gauge drops off after the engine has run for a while. Shutting it off and restarting will usually bring the reading back up, only to watch it drop again after running for a bit.

If a return is installed and pressure drops at idle, pinch the return hose and tell me what happens.
