Talking Made some changes to my FB

I finally got around to changing up my FB a little. I can't seem to go long at all before i need to start changing the look of my cars.

Anyhow, I removed the rear wing you see in my sig picture, finished my dual exhaust, and added a few decals. Thought I'd share a few pics:

Let the arguments begin!

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of spoilers, but I thought yours looked pretty good with that particular body kit.

If you like it better without though, that's what counts.

Keep tinkerin' - I love your car BTW. I wish mine looked that good.

I can actually see out the back window now!

Its quite easy to put on and take off. I was just cleaning the car one day, and thought........I wonder how the spoiler was mounted..

....and it was just 2 long screws.....which were crazy hard to get a screwdriver at the proper angle since they were tight.....but obviously, it was figured out.

I didn't have much choice on how far the tips stuck out. I couldn't find any shorter tips that I liked, and if I went too big, I would risk melting the fiberglass. I'll post pics of the underside of the car.....

yea, that's one of the better dual exhaust setups i've seen, but why don't you just cut the tips a bit shorter? i'm sure a shop could do it nicely. then it would PWN!

They are resonator tips.....so, its like a muffler tip...looks like the inside of a cherrybomb muffler or something.

I had it at a shop, and he cut off as much as he could....

I think of it this way.....after I do some more upgrades, and change to a header....It will keep the flames away from the bodykit......

Looks great! Very few cars look good with a wing (IMO) and the FB isn't one of them - thye always seems to look like they were glued on in an effort to give the car a modern look. I like the "classic" wingless look

dont use tips then,

the dual exhaust looks good, but damn those tips stick out a ton.

somebodys going to be a ***, and step on them.

just have clean pipe coming out, maybe paint them black or body match,

but whatever you do, change the tips.

hehe....

I love when people start saying "DO WHAT I SAY" on the forum. It's great...

ANyhow......it sounds WEIRD. Thats all I can describe it as. I was expecting somewhat loud, obnoxious.....almost fartcan Civic noise.

What I have now, sounds like a muffled vacuum cleaner. Whooooooooooooooshhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

It keeps baffling all the pistonheads at the auto parts store I work at. I love it.

yeah yeah, I'm still working on the taillight. Hard to find FBs in yards where the lenses aren't already all smashed.

I like it....

I agree that the tips stick out a bit farther than I would like, but I relize that to fix it is an unreasonable comprimise.

BTW, I think it looks tons better than it did with the wing and the chrome trim. Decals aren't too over-done either, which is rare IMO. Thumbs up!

I dunno. To me......all Rx7s look like they have a really large passenger compartment, and a very low hood. Ever see a picture on a wall, that looked crooked, and you just HAD TO go tilt it?

I guess thats why I pop the hood all the time. It just....looks better to me, being higher up.

I saw something like that done on a second gen awhile back. They made an adjustable hood latch thing. I will probably end up just redrilling the hood latch and moving it up half and inch to an inch. Pretty cool, I guess it helps cool off the engine and whatnot. Im sure it will be helpful, since Im running a weber dcoe that im sure has to suck a good amount of hot air

I also don't have any of the trim pieces below the engine.......which I guess are designed either for aerodynamics or to prevent rocks from jumping into the engine.....

Anyways......it seems to work as a good heat exchanger, pulling in cold air from below and sending out heat through the top.

Its also like an emegency warning......since if I start spraying oil or something crazy, its gonna be visible on my windshield........just, hope that doesn't have to happen.

Very nice. I like the muffler tips AND the decals. .
I also like the fact that you have removed the spoiler. overall, very cool. you might consider getting hood pins if you like to have your hood up like that. just an extra bit of safety, so that the hood does not decapitate you in a head on crash.
