If the bolt pattern for the driveshaft flange is symmetrical (driveshaft can go on 4 ways) then it's 83-up. Driveshaft can only go on two ways: '81-82.
Er. I am not sure how to determine small axle from big axle externally-wise. An -SE axle is fairly obvious, though.
