LSD rear end??

Im looking for a new rear end for my 82. I want to get an limited slip differential in my car. Does anybody know what my best options for this might be?

Also, where is the best place to buy full rebuild kits? i know they are about 800 bucks, give or take alittle bit, but does anyone know a cheap place? thanks. peace.

Any GSL or GSL-SE model rearend has LSD and rear disc.
The SE rearends are slightly lower geared and stronger. As cheap as replacements from a salvage yard are I would not mess with a rebuild.

Good luck

An 82 or earlier GSL diff would work, I think.

I think it should also be mentioned that the GSL-SE rear end also has a different bolt pattern for the wheels. If you swap in a whole -SE rear end, your stock wheels won't fit. The best idea is to go with a GSL rear end.

Your LSD might be really worn. Mine had a breakaway torque of only 30 lbs compared to 90 new. Lotta slipping.

park car. block front wheels. car in neutral, brake off. jack one of the rear wheels up in the air and put torque wrench on it. The torque required to turn the wheel is what your breakaway torque is on the LSD.
