LSD individual parts interchangeable?

LSD individual parts interchangeable?
I already know of the main differences between the rear axles in the 1st gen rx-7
78-82 - small axle/bearing, small pinion flange
83 - small axle/bearing, large pinion flange
84-85 - large axle/bearing, large pinion flange
...blah blah blah
but what about the internals? obviously the splined gear in the center of the LSD will be different to accommodate the axle change, but what about the other parts? cone spring, drive clutch, driven clutch, spider gears, spider cross thing and the thrust blocks.
Also, are there LSD parts from other cars like the clutch's or spider assembly that will work in an 83 GSL LSD unit? maybe not necessarily same part #'s but "will work if needed" , like maybe early miata or NA FC LSD clutch parts or LSD internals?
p.s. ive already read Steve84GS LSD rebuild thread, im just looking for a lil more direct answers
