My '79 has 107,770 miles on it right now, which is pretty good for a twenty five year old car, methinks. That works out to less than 5000 miles per year!

My 79 Limited Edition has 20,033 This was the year she went from the teens to the twentys Just got rid of the orginal Bridgestones about 3 years ago. Still have the orginal spare onboard never been used.

Anything around 100,000 or less should be considered low miles on these old cars...

My 85 has 105,000 on it now, bought it 10yrs ago with 60,000 on it. Sucker's been bullet-proof!

My 91 has 70,000 on it-just bought it last year. Not nearly as tough as the 85...

Both of them are high enough-but they both look near new inside and out.

A nice 100,000 mile cared for car will definately give you less problems than one that hasn't been driven, but the low miles always makes the car worth more-silly, eh?

Just curious as to the comments posted from time to time on this forum about how a low mileage rx-7 is bad news. It will have more problems then an identical model year with high mileage. Have the people making these claims owned a low mileage RX-7? or is this urban legend and I’m not talking about some text book theory about apex seals and lubricants breaking down iam talking about the real world, there seems to a handful of low mileage rx-7s out there not including those who have never visited this forum. I haven’t heard them complaining I should have driven it more I would have avoided all these problems. Here is my list of repairs for the past 24 years the carburetor gaskets were leaking put new gaskets on 10 years ago some part wore out of the steering linkage don’t remember exact name. Thats its except for the usual tune ups. I’m not bragging just pointing out I have to believe an RX-7 with 120,000 may have a few more problems then one with 20,000 again I’m talking real world not about some guy who had a cousin that never drove it and a rat ate the gas tank out at least that’s what my uncle said who died 15 years ago. Low mileage high mileage just drive it and have fun. And I didn’t even have to say who gives a ****!

My mighty RX just turned 100,000 and has had no problems engine wise. I am finally getting a leak around the oil cooler... but other than that, it's been a willing banshee...

There is no denying the fact that cars that sit for extremely long periods of time have more crap go wrong with them when they are driven again.

I'm talking about all cars, not just Rx-7s. Ask anyone who works at a car dealership what "lot rot" is.

I would take the pepsi challenge with my car against a "super low" miler any day!
