lowerd car now power steering is acting wierd
so i lowered my rx7, cut 1.25 coils out. it handles just fine and doesnt bottom out so please dont lecture me on it. ive done it to many cars and had no problems.
anyway now when i approach a corner my powersteering seems to get tight then loosens up after the wheels are turned. it doesnt make sense im either gonna figure out why or just remove the ps.

^ +1.
Lowering a car also changes suspension geometry, but that's another lecture.
And be sure you cut the springs correctly - it's preferrable to buy lowering springs so the spring rate remains the same

my alignment is fine guys, im having a problem with my power steering...
i cut the exact same off each side of the car. so thats not a problem. im assuming since i lowered it the camber changed thus giving the tires more grip causing the ps pump to work harder, that or im low on ps fluid but it didnt do that before i drove the car.
im not a noob. dont let the low post count fool you

so if you're not a noob, why did you cut your springs.
all non-no0bs don't do that ghetto sht... right.
you gotta pay to play, so do it once and do it right. get the right lowering springs or coil-overs.

If you're not a noob why didn't you check your PS fluid before posting.

Check your fluid and then get back to us.
Also, you may have forgotten something when you put the struts back together, like the washer that goes between the strut and the top strut mount. That can cause binding that comes and goes depending on the position of the strut. Does the strut make any noise when you turn the wheel?

Good call Moses, most members do not know about the trust washers and they are easy to get out of order during re-assembly. The other easily missed step in the assembly is the orientation of the triangle at the top of the strut, which changes camber and caster and can cause his problem.

Easy call on this one, remove it.... saving weight is always a plus.... second I own a car with the springs cut, that the previous owner did, and I hate it. The car rides way to rough, it bottoms out constantly and hops around like it has hydraulics. The fact that they are cut makes them far to rigid, simply because they are too short. They are not designed with that in mind so the results are horrible. Because of the fact they are too stiff it actually handles WORSE than it did before, it is simply TOO rigid.
Get some lowering springs or coil overs, the difference is NIGHT and DAY. I know you didnt want a lecture, but you just posted to a car forum full of people who have been doing this much longer than you and are more qualified to talk on the subject, and alot of us are straight up arrogant about it, and thats mostly because they have to talk to noobs all day.
If your going to do it, do it right the first time. Then you dont have to worry about it, and you know somewhere people who figure out suspension geometry out for a living and know more than you about it, did it right. And if they didnt you can sue their pants off....
Also lowering it and completely tearing your front end apart probably changed your camber and your caster, however I highly doubt it has a thing to do with your PS....
