the one on top of the radiator is only the level sensor. There is a temperature sensor at the bottom of my radiator and another one on the engine.

I cant really help you with your problem (dont kno much about the cooling system) but I just wanted to say that I really admire the love you must have for your car to have done such an involving restoration. The car looks beautiful and clean from the outside! And itll probably last forever with all the coats of paint and stuff you put on her

The coolant sender is on the block near the oil pressure switch. From memory, I believe its on the rear side housing. Its pretty small and has only one wire.
