So I had a temporary exhuast rigged up with the super trap from my racecar on my 83' street car. And The super trap was stickin out from the side of the car lol. Anyways a speed bump so kindly removed the super trap so I got out picked up the muffler and drove home strait piped! Man I took it to about 6200rpm and couldnt take the noise anymore! Sounded pretty cool tho haha.

 

That must have been insane. Can you hear me? I SAID THAT MUST HAVE BEEN INSANELY LOUD!

 

would that be bad on the engine at all?

would there be a difference in performance?

 

kinda unrelated but dont wanna make a new thread.... how many inch is the rb exhaust that seems to be the most common in this forum? i just found out the maximum legal size where i am is 2.5" how fucked up is that??

lol, when i got my rb exhaust, the guy i bought it from couldnt ship the muffler with the header and midpipe. i put that on, took it for a test drive, went about 1.5 miles away and my friends dad said he could here my car the whole time. and i even had 2 presilencers. your car must have been really loud.

 

Well I put the mufffler back on and went to a rx7 meet in lansing MI about an hour from my house. And I made it up there and about half way home untill the thing came off agian. So I had about a 30min drive 20 of which on the expressway with strait pipes. It's time to get a real exhuast, because that drive sucked!

I was planning to run my RB header/presilencer with no muffler for the season end autoX, but they wouldn't tech me without the muffler.
