You will make your ears bleed with a megaphone on the street (unless you run ear plugs and over-the-ear ear protection.

Curious: Why do you want a megaphone?

skip to about 40sec http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qL35...eature=related

keep in mind this is WITH a muffler, and its STILL loud enough to be heard over an actual race, or its so loud you almost can't hear it anymore.

That is the definition of perfect exhaust sound from a rotary.

well me and a friend will be setting up my exhaust here within a month. im going to have it set up for street and have with clamps so i can easily switch between a catylac converter to a straight pipe, and for my rear section im going to do the same with a muffler and a megaphone, for when i hit the track

awsome clip j9fd3s

Most of the time you will want to have the 2 pipes collect to take advantage of exhaust scavenging. You will make more power that way. Each preceding exhaust pulse sucks the next one through. More power than 2 pipes all the way back. You adjust the distance you run 2 pipes before collecting the exhaust to determine at what rpm range this scavenging happens at.

You can run them long like you are talking about, but usually that gives you good low end power for street performance. (long primary system) It sounds like you wanna race. A short distance before collection will give you more high end power (long primary system), and done right, can make for a nice street/racecar.

Check out a thread in the normally aspirated section on exhausts started by rotarygod. Great info. I love your idea of switching out pieces of the exhaust to go to the track. I believe that is discussed in that particular thread.
